SPS innovates using GreenBytes storage solutions

After an extensive research period, SPS has chosen the innovative Green Storage solutions of GreenBytes for both internal and customer project use and has joined into a technology partnership with the them. Through this partnership we have a direct communication line to the developers of GreenBytes products in order to realize good integration with our integrated GENSYS™ BSM tooling as quickly as possible. The knowledge on and experience with these new storage solutions makes SPS the most capable partner par excellence for design, implementation and management projects that require a combination of profound storage, virtualization, backup and management expertise. With the GreenBytes products we have brought aboard a High Performance SAN solution that within virtual environments is coping well with any “input/output storm”.

Another important advantage is already in the name of the solution: ‘green data’ stands for significantly less energy consumption per TB data. Datacenters will have to become constantly greener and with these kind of storage products in combination with energy saving 10G BLADE network components and a massive server and desktop virtualization and consolidation move we have made major steps in the right direction. The fact that GreenBytes is more energy-efficient than other storage solutions is based on, amongst others, the combination of hybrid SSD technology, dynamic disk speed, built for 10G networks and a unique inline deduplication solution. SPS deliberately chose these products and the partnership with GreenBytes to make our datacenter greener and based on practice be able to advise customers well with regard to content about these innovative solutions.

SPS now has at her datacenter several GreenBytes SANs, Blade 10G solutions and various flavours of virtualization and cluster environments on which we test different VM, VDI, database en Exchange field cases and carry out benchmarks. With these figures and practice we can even better advise customers about the most optimal configuration. Furthermore the Gensys development team is busy developing the corresponding Gensys Monitoring and management templates, such that also these new products can be managed optimally by the Gensys BSM suite and customers can integrate these storage products seamlessly within their IT Services Monitoring.
